Macramé Tote or Wallhanging
Learn Macramé skills whilst personalising a tote bag or wall hanging.
Friday, 24 April @ 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm

A half-day afternoon workshop that focuses on the ancient art of Macramé.
In this workshop we will be learning a few Macramé knots to create a stylish boho fringe for adding to a
Tote bag of your choice.
There will be plenty of opportunity to style your bag just the way you want it – adding embellishment
along the way.
We have a choice of cotton tote bags available, but if you have one already at home that you would like
to add your Macramé design to, please bring it along. The only requirement is that the bag is made
from material such as cotton, canvas or denim.
The Macramé fringe will be stitched onto the bag but is easily removed later if required.
If you do not have a need for a new bag, you can instead add your fringe design to a wooden pole or
hoop and create a stylish wall hanging.
This relaxed and friendly workshop is perfect for those with a basic understanding of Macramé but is
looking for their next textile art project.

Lucy from Hearts and Pearls is a self-taught Macramé artist based in Falmouth. Grown from a hobby, her business specialises in propagating rare trailing semi-succulent plants, including the popular String of Hearts and Pearls, and through this, she first explored making decorative plant hangers from Macramé yarn. Having experimented with various projects over the years, she now runs Macramé workshops in the local area. She designs tutorials for others to learn the basics of this historic art form, some of which are available to purchase in the CCB gift shop.
