Macramé Mermaids

A special Half Term Holiday workshop that focuses on the art of Macramé.

Wednesday, 27 May @ 10:00 am 11:30 am

£5.00 – £10.00 Includes all materials

In this short workshop we will be making Mermaids/Mermen.

This relaxed and friendly workshop is perfect for complete beginners as well as those looking for their
next textile art project.

Under the guidance of Lucy, you’ll learn a few basic knots and techniques of Macramé and go home
with a wall hanging mythical creature. Due to the beads and other small accessories used in the
making process, these Mermaids/Mermen will not be suitable as toys or gifts for the younger audience.

This workshop is suitable for 9+years when accompanied by an adult. The session would make a
great activity to enjoy together.

What colour yarn will you choose?
What name will you give them?
Will you decorate them with seashells – do you have any bring along?

What’s included:
 Step-by-step tuition in a fun and welcoming environment
 All Macramé yarns and accessories provided
 10% discount off any cafe purchases on the day if you fancy staying for lunch after the
workshop or grabbing breakfast before it!
 Your own unique handmade crafts to take home

No previous experience is necessary – absolute beginners are very welcome. If you catch the Macramé
bug, you’ll also find a selection of other Macramé craft kits and tutorials available to purchase in the
Craft Barn gift shop.

Spaces are limited so book early to secure your place.

Lucy from Hearts and Pearls is a self-taught Macramé artist based in Falmouth. Grown from a hobby, her business specialises in propagating rare trailing semi-succulent plants, including the popular String of Hearts and Pearls, and through this, she first explored making decorative plant hangers from Macramé yarn. Having experimented with various projects over the years, she now runs Macramé workshops in the local area. She designs tutorials for others to learn the basics of this historic art form, some of which are available to purchase in the CCB gift shop.
